In 2006 we came to visit my sister - in -law who lives in North Carolina, USA. Then 3 of us went to visit Washington DC and New York City.
Whilst our plane circle and prepared to land at Ronald Reagan airport, I could see the Capitol shone in the sunshine. We chose to stay at Eden, Virginia because a large Vietnamese community settled there and we could find food ( Vietnamese ) easily after sightseeing
And this building gave us lots of time to find :) it hide behind a big park ( La Fayette?? ) and less high than its neighbour buildings.
White House ( note the snipes on its terrace )
Been in Japan before the States, I must say US' metro system far behind Japan' s . While Japan - Tokyo system are well lit, the directions between destinations marked clearly( Japanese use a color code i.e. Asakusa line ' s stations symbol as a red A1, A2 and so on ) so finding our way wasn't a problem. We couldn't say same things to US' system. The stations are dark, dim lit, lack of sign and info. We lost many times at Washington DC ' and NYC' metro and never got lost in Japan!!
Next entry will be some photos of Washington DC. Enjoy !!
